Introduction

Welcome to ZODA Health – product of MyZODA Ltd. By accessing or using our mobile application or website (collectively, “ZODA Health” or the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms govern your relationship with ZODA Health Technologies Ltd. as a patient, medical provider, or visitor.

Please read this document carefully. If you do not agree with any part, you should not use the Platform.

1. About ZODA Health

ZODA Health is a digital health platform that is owned and operated by MyZODA Ltd., which connects patients with licensed healthcare professionals for remote consultation, prescription services, and follow-up care. We operate in compliance with Nigerian medical laws and ethical standards, including the regulations of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), and National Health Act.

2. Eligibility to Use ZODA Health

To create an account or book an appointment, you must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian. Healthcare professionals must hold a valid license issued by the MDCN, NMCN, or equivalent regulatory body. By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is true, complete, and current.

3. Use of the Platform

You agree to use ZODA Health only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial healthcare services. You will not impersonate others, use another user’s account, or engage in conduct that disrupts or harms the Platform or its users. We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to anyone who misuses the Platform, provides false information, or violates ethical or legal guidelines.

4. Medical Consultations

Virtual consultations are conducted by independent, licensed medical providers. ZODA Health does not interfere with clinical judgment or the doctor-patient relationship. Users understand that:

  • The provider is solely responsible for diagnosis, treatment, and prescriptions
  • Consultations are not a substitute for emergency care
  • Follow-up recommendations and offline visits may be advised

ZODA Health is not liable for medical outcomes resulting from provider actions or user non-compliance.

5. Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Cancellations

Our scheduling policies are designed to promote fairness, accountability, and mutual respect between patients and providers. Key highlights include:

  • Patients may reschedule an appointment up to three times. After the third reschedule, they must either attend or cancel and forfeit payment.
  • Appointments canceled by patients within 24 hours of the scheduled time may be non-refundable, unless due to verified emergencies, technical faults, hospitalization, or force majeure events.
  • For same-day appointments (booked within 24 hours of the scheduled time), patients may cancel within 1 hour of booking for a full refund. Cancellations made after that window may result in forfeited payment.
  • Providers may propose alternate time slots, but final approval rests with the patient. Repeated short-notice cancellations by providers may lead to account suspension.
  • ZODA Health reserves the right to review and suspend accounts that consistently violate scheduling ethics or abuse platform flexibility. For full details, please refer to our [Appointment Cancellation & Reschedule Policy].

6. Payments and Refunds

ZODA Health uses secure payment gateways to process fees for consultations, subscriptions, or additional services. Patients are charged based on published pricing at the time of booking. Refunds are only granted under certain conditions, including provider cancellations or verified technical issues. Subscription payments auto-renew unless canceled through account settings prior to renewal date. If you cancel a subscription, you will continue to have access to premium features until the end of the paid subscription period. Canceled subscriptions will not auto-renew. Please note that we do not provide partial refunds for any unused portion of a subscription term. Users are responsible for reviewing the pricing terms before completing payment.

7. User Content and Conduct

You may submit health history, chat messages, or feedback through the Platform. By doing so, you grant us a limited license to use this content to operate and improve our services. You agree not to submit abusive, misleading, defamatory, or unlawful content. Such behavior may result in suspension or removal from the Platform without prior notice.

8. Intellectual Property

All platform content—design, branding, software, trademarks, text, and graphics—belongs to ZODA Health Technologies Ltd. or its licensors. You may not use, copy, or distribute any material without express written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

ZODA Health provides the platform “as is” and does not guarantee uninterrupted access or the outcome of medical consultations. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for:

  • Delays, data loss, or system errors
  • Medical malpractice or negligence by providers
  • Unauthorized access caused by user error or device compromise
  • Losses resulting from user misuse of the platform

10. Termination and Account Suspension

ZODA Health may suspend or terminate user accounts at its discretion for violations of these terms, illegal activity, or behavior inconsistent with medical ethics. Upon termination, access to services and records may be limited or disabled.

11. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably through arbitration shall be referred to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.

12. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically. If changes materially affect your rights or obligations, we will notify you via email or app notifications. Your continued use of ZODA Health after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
